Make a list of the best science fiction films made this decade and World of Tomorrow is right near the top. If you haven’t seen or heard of it, that’s probably because it’s a short film, but it’s jaw-droppingly amazing and now it’s getting a sequel.

Filmmaker Don Hertzfeldt, who was nominated but somehow didn’t win an Oscar for World of Tomorrow, announced via Twitter Friday that episode two in this unique world is coming.

World of Tomorrow is on Netflix and if you haven’t seen it, carve out 15 minutes this weekend and do that. You won’t be disappointed. It’s a fascinating exercise not just in animation, but in time-travel storytelling, philosophy, and so much more.

As for what “The Burden of Other People’s Thoughts” could be, we can only imagine. Something with a character being able to hear other people’s thoughts? Living in another person’s mind? An older version of a character reading the mind of that person at a younger age? Knowing Hertzfeldt, it’s probably something much more clever. We’re excited to find out.
