We've always known that the second season of HBO series True Detective would be a complete reboot (of sorts). The new season will have new characters and a new locations. And now we know where the new season will take place!
In an interview on The Playlist's podcast, series creator and writer Nic Pizzolatto dropped a new True Detective Season 2 news, including the threat of even more baddies than in the first season, and an additional lead.
"Right now, we're working with three leads. It takes place in California. Not Los Angeles, but some of the lesser known venues of California and we're going to try to capture a certain psychosphere ambience of the place, much like we did with season one."
Earlier this year it was revealed to Hitfix that the plot would center around, "hard women, bad men and the secret occult history of the United States transportation system," which sounds grand.
Now that we know it's in California (not LA) how does that match up with this "transportation system?" The Louisiana setting played such huge role in the first season, there's got to be a specific reason why the creators picked Cali. Any ideas?
