Star Wars: The Force Awakens doesn’t open until December 18, but before that, an event that’s freaking us out just as much will take place. Lucasfilm has teamed up with Gallery 1988 in Los Angeles for an official Star Wars art show and they are asking fans to be a part of it.

They’ve just kicked off the event called Art Awakens, along with HP. For the next two weeks, fans are encouraged to submit their own art to Lucasfilm, and the winners will not only be featured in the exhibit (which will take place in November) but will also be flown out to Los Angeles to attend the opening.

All the original pieces will then be auctioned off during the exhibit with proceeds going to Star Wars: Force for Change which benefits UNICEF Kid Power. To submit your own art, or read more about it, go to ArtAwakens.com. Here’s the teaser poster by artist Tom Whalen:

As a Star Wars art collector, while the charity and fan angles on this story are obviously important, I’m freaking out about how much my wallet is going to hurt when this show happens. I’m sure I’m not the only one.
