Marvel’s next foray into TV, Inhumans, has just cast its first star. It’s Iwan Rheon, who most people know as the deplorable Ramsay Bolton from Game of Thrones. He’s playing Maximus, brother to the king and a major thorn in the side of Black Bolt.
“Maximus is a complex character,” said showrunner Scott Buck. “Likable, charming, tragic and villainous all in the same moment, and I’m very excited to have someone of Iwan’s considerable talent.”
Head of Marvel TV Jeph Loeb added that “Iwan’s ability to be charming, roguish and still completely unexpectedly dangerous were all the different sides we needed to bring the character to life. We’re thrilled to have him on board.”
The show is expected to debut Labor Day weekend in 1,000 IMAX theaters across the country before settling into a normal slot on ABC. Rheon is the first member of the cast.
Curious what the hell Inhumans will be about? Well, we’ve covered that a lot in the articles below.
