It's Official: Michelle MacLaren Will Direct The Wonder Woman Movie

After months of speculation Warner Bros. has finally announced who will direct the long-awaited, live action Wonder Woman movie. And thankfully they picked someone great.

The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that Breaking Bad, The Walking Dead, and Game of Thrones director Michelle MacLaren will direct the Wonder Woman movie, slated to premiere on June 23, 2017.

The writers of the project are still unknown — but THR did mention that Charles Roven, Zack Snyder and Deborah Snyder are all on as producers for this project (which is no real surprise here).

And of course our new, yet-to-be-seen-on-screen as Wonder Woman, Gal Gadot will be starring in the picture. Gadot will make her first appearance as the classic superhero in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. MacLaren was allegedly the front runner for this picture for a while (and a personal favorite around here) but the studio also met with Jenniger Keny (The Babadook) and Lesli Linka Glatter (Homeland).

MacLaren did amazing work on Breaking Bad, so we cannot wait to see what she will do for the Wonder Woman film.
