Deadpool is still a few days from being unleashed on the public and a new report suggests it won’t be the last time. The Hollywood Reporter says the film’s writers are already hard at work on a greenlit sequel.
Those writers are Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, whose original script for Deadpool leaked online about six years ago. Hearing they’re working on a sequel makes sense not only because the film is expected to be a big hit, but because the film’s star, Ryan Reynolds, recently talked about several potential follow-ups.
“In the future I think, if we’re doing a bunch more Deadpool movies, we’re going to really explore the X-Men a lot, and maybe X-Force,” said Reynolds. “X-Force is really my priority. I really want to get that in.”
We’ll have to wait and how it all plays out—but it appears Deadpool 2 is already on the way.
